Coach Chris Palmquist has led the MMTT Youth Development Team since 2011 to introduce the skills and fun of triathlon to young triathletes of all ability levels. Youth Team triathletes compete in local and regional triathlons then compete both as individuals and as a team at the USAT Youth and Junior National Championships. In addition to her passion for working with youth, Chris is a USA Paratriathlon National Team Coach, Member of the World Triathlon Paratriathlon Committee, and Cloud 10 Multisport Head Coach. Additionally, she was a 2016 Rio Paralympic Games Coach, 2017 Paratriathlon Coach of the Year, and 2019 Development Coach of the Year. She is a USA Triathlon Elite Level III, Youth and Junior, and Paratriathlon Certified Coach. She is a USA Cycling Level I Elite, Power-Based Training Coach and a F.I.S.T Bike Fitter. Since 1993, Chris Palmquist has helped hundreds of endurance athletes achieve success - from brand new beginners and youth athletes to World Champions and Paralympic medalists. Chris leads high performance camps for USA Paratriathlon National Team athletes and supports Team USA athletes at international ITU races and World Championships. In 36 years as an athlete, she has competed in collegiate rowing, triathlon, running, canoe/kayak, cross country skiing, road cycling, cycling time trial. Her coaching philosophy is based on trust, communication, balance, achieving top potential and the joy of challenging training and racing.
