Mental Skills Workshop

Dr. Amanda Leibovitz, PhD, LMHCA, LPC, CMPC

Dr. Amanda Leibovitz, PhD, LMHCA, LPC, CMPC, is a licensed therapist and certified mental performance consultant with a strong calling to empower others with the knowledge, awareness, and skills needed to navigate life on their own terms. She also holds coaching certifications with USA Triathlon, USA Paratriathlon, and USA Cycling and has been coaching endurance athletes since 2012. Her unique blend of experience, education, and training allows her to integrate effective strategies for high performance with proven approaches to mental health counseling to emphasize clients’ personal strengths and values as important vehicles for change. Throughout her career, Amanda has gained extensive experience working with athletes and performers at all levels of competition, including elite youth sailing, lacrosse, and beach volleyball, NCAA Division 1 softball, military adaptive sports, and Olympic and Paralympic throwing, wrestling, triathlon, and cycling. In addition to her work in private practice at Epic Wellness & Performance PLLC, she currently manages endurance programs for the Semper Fi & America’s Fund and contracts as a cycling coach for the U.S. Special Operations Command - Care Coalition. Amanda earned her PhD in Educational Psychology with a Concentration in the Psychosocial Aspects of Sport and Exercise at the University of North Texas and holds an MA in Counseling with a Specialization in Sport and Health Psychology from Adler University. Her doctoral research focused on the psychosocial needs of athletes with physical and psychological disabilities and best practices for coaches working with trauma-impacted athletes. She has also completed specialized training in EMDR therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, DBT skills, internal family systems, nonviolent communication, and performance enhancement.
